Sue Houghton - Moorings and Lines, Oil on board 53cm X 53 cm (including frame)
Sue Houghton
A Kent based contemporary artist.
Sue works primarily in oils, building up layers and sometimes incorporating mixed media for added texture, using brush and palette knife. She has diplomas in interior design and decorative painting and has been a keen artist for the past 15 years, working from her studio at home. She draws her inspiration from our coastlines, harbours and beaches with the occasional eclectic diversion for the sheer joy of painting. She is a strong believer that art should follow feelings.
Sue finds the creative process absorbing and paints most days. The pleasure for her is seeing a client drawn to a painting because it resonates for them too and she hopes that her work reflects her enthusiasm and passion for her art, and her delight in colour and experimentation. Each painting is presented in solid oak or ash frames, handmade in-house.
She has successfully exhibited and sold in galleries in Kent, Sussex & London, and won an “Artist of the Year” Award from Art Focus Magazine, including “a very well-deserved accolade for a talented artist and a name to watch out for in 26/27.
