Leanne Hodson is a West Kent based oil painter whose practice centres on the local landscape. Known for her tranquil, colourist paintings, she draws on the legacy of Impressionism to evoke atmosphere through expressive colour, light and tonal contrast.
Working directly from her experience of place, Hodson explores the landscape across the seasons, translating familiar scenes into luminous and contemplative works.
Her latest series is painted on unprimed wood panels, embracing the natural qualities of the material. The visible grain and texture of the wood become an active part of the composition, adding depth and character to the painted surface.
Her work has been exhibited at The Outpost, and in 2026 she held her debut solo exhibition 'Sanctuary in Landscape'.
