‘With an apple, I will astonish Paris’ quoted by the famous artist Paul Cezanne in 1895. The Post Impressionist completely changed the traditional way of Art at that time with a most ordinary choice of fruit for his canvas.
Jennifer’s paintings are informed by ordinary subjects seen on her travels and at home. She often travels to Portugal where she enjoys the old architecture and the vibrancy of fruits and flowers. She enjoys the texture and feel of oil paints which she uses to express her reaction to places visited.
She studied Fine Art at the London Metropolitan University, where she also gained at diploma in Life Drawing with City and Guilds. Her interest in the work of Matisse, Pissarro and Bonnard inspired her to study for a master’s degree with the Open University. A highlight of her artists’ journey has been to sell a drawing at the Royal Academy of Art. Her art collections are in Portugal, U.S.A., Australia and Ireland. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo and joint exhibitions in London, Kent and Surrey and Sussex for several years. She is a member of the Blackheath Art Society and has exhibited at the SMAG exhibitions several times. She is available for commissions.
