Seasonal Dialogues, Diptych 50cm X 20cm and 50 cm X 50 cm
Deborah Pearse
Deborah explores how perception and perspective shape the way we experience the world. Working primarily in oils, she moves between abstraction and representation, often using diptychs and multi-canvas compositions to create visual dialogue between shifting viewpoints.
Her paintings investigate how spatial, cultural, and psychological perspectives influence meaning. Layered surfaces and visible revisions allow traces of earlier decisions to remain within the work, suggesting that perception — like identity and environment — is continually evolving. By placing images in conversation, she invites viewers to navigate multiple vantage points and consider how meaning emerges through relationship and change.
Patterns and rhythms within nature — including water, sound, and circadian cycles — inform her visual language, offering metaphors for adaptation and transformation.
Deborah gained her degree in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins. She appeared on Portrait Artist of the Year (Sky Arts, 2020). Recent exhibitions include Pivotal Perspectives with Women United Artists and Curious Perspectives at The Mount Vineyard, Kent. She has also exhibited in Artist, Mother: Proud & Serious with Women United Artists, alongside inclusion in their Volume II publication and podcast interview. Other exhibitions include The London Lighthouse Gallery, the Chaiya Art Awards at the Oxo Tower, and the Gemini Art Prize in London and Singapore. Deborah will also feature in the VAA 100publication in 2026.
