Acrylic and Mixed Media 64cm x 64cm

Amanda McGrail

Amanda is an abstract artist working from her home studio in Surrey, creating richly layered paintings in acrylic, mixed media, and occasionally wax and oil. Inspired by fleeting moments, natural forms, weathered surfaces, and the interplay between nature and the man-made world, she transforms visual memories into expressive, intuitive works.

Her paintings evolve organically, often beginning with a simple visual reference before unfolding through colour, texture, line, and shape. Rather than documenting a place or moment, Amanda captures the feeling it leaves behind, creating imagined narratives that are both personal and universal. Each work is a process of discovery—an exploration of memory, emotion, and the beauty found in the ordinary—with the hope that these painted stories will resonate and become shared experiences for others.
